Back in early 2008 I discovered the Awn dock. At that time I was working on a gnome-panel applet that would display when the hard disk in my ThinkPad gets immediately unloaded because of a shock. However, because Awn looked much more shinier than the old and boring gnome-panel, I decided to port my applet to Awn. After that I decided I would want to get rid of gnome-panel altogether. Partly because gnome-panel is lame (completely written in a deprecated language called C) and also because having two panels is lame (Please buy an Apple instead of using a theme that makes your Linux look like Mac OS X) So, I started improving several applets and writing new ones...</div><div><br /></div><div>Now we're three years later. First, 0.3.2 got released, which fixed most of the crappiness of 0.2.6, and then 0.4.0, which was a rewrite and made the dock much better. Sadly though, after more than a year of development, 0.4.2 still hasn't been released.
